The greatest there ever WAS....

The title by the way, was not a slip;

I mean, who would have imagined that the person who had exhausted all the superlatives, who had just capped an excellent run the previous year and who until recently, was increasingly desperate to discover a nemesis if atleast to keep his motivational levels going, would lose in such a timid fashion at a slam he had been yearning to covet for 3 years now.

Watching the French Open final moments ago, I am almost tempted to bid adieu to the Swiss genius. Make no mistake though, (taking nothing away from Nadal however) if truth be told, Nadal did not win the match; Federer had lost it. Making 30 and odd unforced errors means your opponent is 8-0 on the scoreboard without breaking a sweat.

And it is not just because of this single match; to lose against Djokovic, Fish, Stepanek, Murray, Roddick and now Nadal - all of this within 5 months and with only one title to show; someone pleaseeeeeeee wake me up and tell me this is a nightmare.

Have we seen the best of Federer already ? One might be tempted to agree.

PS: Prove me wrong, Roger
